About Me
Dan Butlin
Dan Butlin is a Sheffield based dry stone waller, with a background in environmental conservation. He has had regular work on the Chatsworth Estate, and recently worked for the social enterprise Green Estate's inner city farm on Manor Top.
In 2007 he was awarded a scholarship by the Zibby Garnett Travelling Fellowship to work alongside local wallers based in the north of Corsica. From here he spent 18 months working in France with Les Muraillers de Provence, during which time he was involved in a project by the famous land artist Andy Goldsworthy.
Since returning from France, Dan has worked with lime plasterers in Derbyshire and had his work featured at the Fire in the Mountain folk festival near Aberystwyth, Wales.

Dan has proven to be a hard worker.
During the build he kept within budget and stuck to the set timescale. He also took time to share his expertise and enthusiasm for his craft.
He is a nice easy going character. Visitors to our garden greatly admire the wall he built. He has brought a bit of rural Derbyshire into our inner city urban garden. It wasn’t a case of finishing the job and leaving, Dan provided a follow up service for us which we appreciated.
He has built a beautiful wall for us which will be admired for many years to come.
